ATTENTION
Before you read more about Brokeback Saturday, it's important that you have an open mind. Some things that happened on Brokeback Saturday may raise questions about us, but it's important to remember one fact: we're just eight young cowboys who had a really good time one Saturday night.

Saturday, January 28th, 2006, will forever be known as Brokeback Saturday. The festivities began Saturday morning when Nic, Kellen, and Jimm went to Mankato to pick up the essential cowboy supplies they were still missing. They first tried River Hills Mall, and although RCC is a great place for cowboy gear, their budget didn't allow for the purchase of RCC's high-quality cowboy boots and hats. Instead, they found exactly what they needed at Gordman's. Nic bought a cowboy hat, Jimm bought extremely tight jeans, and Kellen bought the most beautiful white jeans they had ever seen.

Next, the cowboys made their way back to New Richland, where Nic and Jimm suited up in the cowboy gear they would wear until the end of the night. The three drove to Kellen's house, where the finishing touches were put on their outfits so the photo shoot could begin. Nic took pictures of Kellen and Jimm on Kellen's farm. This was when the infamous Brokeback Mountain poster picture was taken. After the photo shoot, the three cowboys went back inside Kellen's house, where they watched American Psycho and waited for the remaining cowboys to arrive.

When Trevor and Ben arrived at Kellen's house, dressed in full cowboy attire, the rapidly-growing group drove to Ellendale to meet Nick and Matt at Nick's house, but not before stopping at One Stop in New Richland for some much-needed Rock Star energy drinks. When the group arrived at Nick's house, the only elements still missing were Matt's cowboy hat and Tim. So, after taking a couple pictures at Nick's hosue, the group split into two groups and drove to Owatonna, where they stopped at Target to look for a hat. As if it was meant to be, Matt found an absolutely perfect cowboy hat, complete with feathers.

After a quick drive to Arby's, the group had dinner. When Tim arrived, the cowboys paired up and prepared to enter the theater. When Kellen and Nic entered, faced the cashier, and Kellen said, "Two for Brokeback Mountain," the young woman behind the counter smiled and held back her laughter. Jimm and Tim came next, followed by Ben and Matt, and Nick and Trevor. There were only a few others in the theater, and at one point the employees came in to see all the cowboys sitting in their seats. They all knew what was coming, but none of them were prepared for what was about to happen next...

The movie surpassed all the cowboys' expectations. They could all relate to the story on many different levels.
It was, in fact, the greatest movie of all time. This was the greatest day of any of their lives.

After the movie, the group drove back to Nick's house for one final picture with all of them.
They day was almost finished, but the cowboy spirit present throughout the day would live on for all time...

I would like to thank a few people who helped make Brokeback Saturday possible.
First, obviously, this could never have happened if the movie hadn't been made,
so I would like to thank E. Annie Proulx, Ang Lee, Heath Ledger, Jake Gyllenhaal,
and everyone else who made it possible.
Also, I would like to thank Kellen, Nic, Tim, Ben, Nick, Matt, and Trevor
for letting their true cowboys spirits guide them on Brokeback Saturday.
Finally, I would like to thank God, Christian Bale, and Emma Watson for making life enjoyable.
